The problem

Work plan season shouldn’t mean spreadsheet season.

Every year it’s the same three headaches, and they all land in the same few weeks. Here’s where the time goes.

01

Built by hand

Every teacher, every year, in spreadsheets or on paper.

02

Hard to check

Showing each plan meets the MEA takes time.

03

Back and forth

Teachers and managers chasing changes.

There’s a better way. See how MST turns this into one shared, digital workflow.

See how MST helps
How MST helps

One digital work plan for every teacher.

MST gives each teacher an annual work plan that allocates their accountable hours across categories. The program lead and teacher negotiate, approve and sign it off — in one place.

Built on the Agreement

Work plans that comply with the Victorian TAFE Teaching Staff Agreement.

Negotiated and signed in one place

Program lead and teacher agree the plan, approve it and sign it off — no emailed spreadsheets.

Every change versioned

Re-negotiating creates a new version, so the history is always there.

01How do TAFEs manage teacher work plans?

Each teacher has an annual work plan that allocates their accountable hours across categories. Many TAFEs still build and track these in spreadsheets. MST puts every plan in one place, so the program lead and teacher can negotiate, approve and sign it off together.

02When are work plans due?

Many Victorian TAFEs work to a 1 March deadline for the year’s work plans. MST helps you get every 2027 plan built, checked and signed well before then.

03Can we start with just one department?

Yes. Most TAFEs start small with one or two departments, get those plans signed, then roll MST out further when they’re ready.

04What does the MEA say about teaching hours?

The MEA sets the rules for how teaching staff hours are allocated. MST is built around it, so every work plan is checked against the Agreement before it’s signed. For the detail, refer to the Agreement itself or your HR team.

05Do we have to replace our current systems?

No. We set MST up with you, alongside the systems you already run — including your student and learning systems.
